Starting or Changing a Group
If you’re considering setting up a new group or making changes to your organisation, we can help. We’ve guided hundreds like you to take those first few steps. We'll gladly help you understand what's required, find the appropriate structure and get the paperwork right.
Governance & Charity Law
Getting your governance in order will make everything else your organisation does easier, help you build trust with stakeholders, and give your organisation the best chance of thriving. We can help you put the correct systems in place, and we offer training for Board and Committee members to understand their responsibilities and refresh their knowledge regularly.

Payroll & Bill-Paying
Our payroll service is available to both third-sector organisations and to individuals who manage their own care. We offer a complete end-to-end service, which includes making payments directly to your employees' bank accounts, dealing with HMRC, pension providers, and all other payroll-related queries.
HR and Health & Safety
Your organisation is responsible to the people who deliver and use its services. There are a lot of rules and regulations that apply to employers, including HR and health and safety. We offer expert support, subscription options and regular training courses designed specifically for the voluntary sector.
Recruitment Service
Finding the right person for your team can be difficult, time-consuming and expensive. Our recruitment service helps charities, social enterprises, and third-sector organisations attract and appoint the talent that best fits their organisations.
Human Rights & Equality
The voluntary sector has a key role to play in ensuring that we build a better and fairer society. Understanding and embedding human rights principles and equality practices into your organisation will help you to achieve your aims. GCVS leads a nationwide Third Sector Human Rights & Equalities project (THRE) in partnership with HTSI.
Climate Action
Climate change is already happening, and it’s all our responsibility to consider how we can reduce carbon emissions and prepare for the impact of change in our communities. Our focus is on groups. We'll help you take action by providing advice and training and helping you build connections with local partners and resources.
Free Support in Glasgow
GCVS are currently supported by Glasgow City Council to provide free and reduced-cost advice, guidance and training. This 'funded support' is restricted to organisations based in or operating in Glasgow City, and is limited. To access it, please register with us below!
