Managing People & Safety

Groups and organisations that employ staff need to be mindful of their legal obligations as employers. 

A core part of our Sector Development support is to provide free training, guidance and advice to voluntary sector groups and organisations in Glasgow around HR, Health and Safety, Recruitment and Wellbeing. As with our funding service, in addition to free support for Glasgow groups and organisations, we can also provide more extensive support and help for organisations outside of Glasgow through our People and Safety Service – find more here.

We run regular sessions designed to cover the core topics to be aware of for anyone managing staff. For instance, if your group or organisation is considering hiring staff for the first time, it is essential to be prepared. Trustees must understand their responsibilities towards staff for organisations that already employ people. Our Boards as Employers session covers working practices, contracts and core requirements. We also run a host of support to ensure you are compliant in various health and safety areas, as well as wellbeing and health-related topics that may arise.
