Organisations are facing challenges like never before due to increased demand and a need to plan for their long term sustainability. This may be a time for many organisations to review their current position and make changes for a stronger future.
Board members also play a key role in voluntary sector organisations and groups. Sometimes they need a little support with planning and crisis management, and at GCVS we are here to help.
Planning
GCVS is working with partners to provide bespoke support to organisations who may need to plan ahead for a number of reasons, such as planning for a change of circumstance, or improving sustainability.
A surgery appointment with our experts can point you in the right direction. For this we offer one to one 45 minute bookable appointments via telephone or MS Teams. These planning appointments are only relevant for senior managers or board members.

Crisis Management and Immediate Action
Are you concerned your organisation is insolvent or not viable? Are you worried you’re about to run out of money?
When organisations suspect that they may be in a crisis or difficult situation, it is important that the board addresses the situation and acts quickly. However difficult it might be, it is essential that if you suspect the organisation may be insolvent, you must not continue operations.
GCVS is here to help as much as we can and would suggest the following immediate actions:
- The board should assess the position of the organisation. We have a GCVS Assessment and Next Steps Oct 2022 template which can help.
- Additionally the board should consider any potential HR implications, e.g. payments for potential notice periods and redundancies. If you have an HR advisor, contact them to discuss any necessary actions. GCVS can provide an HR surgery appointment with our HR Service Manager if required.
