Engagement & Community Knowledge

As with the rest of sector development support, we are keen to encourage good practice and sustainability. We work with groups, organisations and social enterprises to improve planning and service design, for example by encouraging local partnerships where this is relevant to better shape services and provide support together.  We use the National Standards of Community Engagement to encourage good conversations with communities that ensure that services remain relevant and responsive to local needs.  Our Development Officer (Enpowerment & Facilities) is keen to hear from groups and organisations in Glasgow.

There are training sessions in our programme that are really relevant here:

  • Stepping Forward into Engaging Communities – an honest exploration of the possibilities & pitfalls of community engagement
  • Stepping Forward into Assessing Community Need – a clear guide to how to approach community needs assessment
  • Stepping Forward into Partnership for a Purpose – consider practical steps to take in developing a partnership
