Engagement & Community Knowledge

Engagement and Community Knowledge

As with other areas of sector development support, we are keen to encourage good practice and sustainability. We work with groups, organisations and social enterprises to improve planning and service design, for example by encouraging local partnerships to collaborate and shape services together. We do this by using the National Standards of Community Engagement to encourage good conversations with communities that ensure services remain relevant and responsive to local needs.

GCVS sector development team offer key sessions in our training programme, including:

  • Stepping Forward into Engaging Communities – an honest exploration of the possibilities & pitfalls of community engagement
  • Stepping Forward into Assessing Community Need – a clear guide to how to approach community needs assessment
  • Stepping Forward into Partnership for a Purpose – consider practical steps to take in developing a partnership

Check out our training programme and get in touch to find out more by emailing  pmgc@gcvs.org.uk

Our Development Officer (Empowerment & Facilities) is also keen to hear from groups and organisations in Glasgow on this topic.
