Opportunities Now Live
We launched the Paid Work Placements programme in June this year when we invited public, voluntary, and private organisations to apply and host work placements.
Glasgow City Council funds the programme, which we are running in partnership with Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, Enable Scotland, CEMVO Scotland, and Move On. Working together, we aim to provide 90 residents of Glasgow who face barriers to employment with the opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience while paid at the Real Living Wage.
The response from employers has been fantastic, and we have created a wide range of placements now available for eligible candidates to apply to. These will continue to be added to in the coming weeks. Opportunities so far include jobs in Administration, Driving, Support Work, Catering, Social Media, Warehousing, Marketing and many more.
To be eligible for a Paid Work Placement, participants must be:
- Aged 16 – 67
- Unemployed
- Have barriers to employment, such as having a disability, being in a racialised group, being a care leaver, having criminal convictions, being a lone parent, being homeless and having no or limited work experience.
(This list is not definitive, as we know there are many barriers.) - Glasgow City Council resident
- Right to work in the UK
