Trustees are asked to participate in a doctoral research study. The researcher is Meg Wright who has many years’ experience in the voluntary sector as a CEO and as a Trustee.

What will taking part involve? There is a questionnaire to complete prior to a semi-structured interview. Interviews should last approximately 45 minutes. You will be asked about your role as a volunteer trustee, how you were recruited, and what challenges you face with the role.

What are the possible benefits of taking part? Your participation will help identify what motivates individuals to volunteer as a trustee and what challenges they face. By participating in this study, you could help charities improve on how trustees are recruited and in the development of recruitment, induction and learning guidelines.

Confidentiality will be protected by removing names or identifying information will be removed from interview transcripts.
