GCVS members are warmly invited to join us at our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 15th January 2019, 9am – 12pm at the Albany Learning and Conference Centre, 44 Ashley Street, Glasgow G3 6DS.
Following our AGM formal business, we are delighted to have Susan Aitken, Leader of Glasgow City Council, as our keynote speaker. She will give our keynote address on the Council’s commitment to create inclusive growth in Glasgow and her vision for collaboration with the Third Sector in achieving this.
Glasgow’s Third Sector has around 2,800 constituted organisations – utilising premises, creating jobs, delivering services, developing the workforce, employing over 27,000 paid staff and bringing an annual income of c.£2.6 billion to the city each year – yet this important economic contribution has been largely unacknowledged, until now.
Our AGM will offer an opportunity for genuine conversation with Susan about the major economic and social benefits brought to Glasgow by the Third Sector each year and how this can be strengthened to inform her leadership of the new Glasgow Partnership for Economic Growth.
