Delegates from the third, public and private sectors attended a Glasgow City Council event to launch the beginning of the “Cooperative Glasgow” process on 6th September.

The Council has established a Cooperative Development Unit to take forward its commitment to becoming a Cooperative Council, which will be an incremental process with both short and long- term goals.
A two year action plan will be developed from discussions at the event, which will involve research on Cooperative Council activity in the UK and will promote the development of Cooperatives in the city. Funding will be available for start ups and development, while support and advice will be provided for those wishing to establish and grow cooperatives in the city.
