Overcoming Digital Exclusion – Getting Learners & Others On-line

July 10 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

An opportunity to explore how we can assist Glasgow communities to become digitally active

Overcoming Digital Exclusion – Getting Learners & Others On-line

During the Covid19 crisis and as we emerge, much of our lives have moved on-line. Many people do not have a smartphone or tablet and if they do, may not have credit or internet access. We cannot assume everyone has the skills to set-up and use technology either. Digital exclusion is a real barrier. People cannot access the services they need and service providers struggle to even contact the communities they usually support. People in Glasgow are finding a way though!

GCVS in partnership with the Glasgow CLD Network is delighted to host this on-line session to share examples of good practice in overcoming digital exclusion.

Speakers include:

• Neil Paterson (Glasgow Life) – Digital Glasgow, Communities Scotland work & access to equipment

• Sheila White (Glasgow Clyde College) & Martina Johnston-Gray (NWVSN) – Gift-tech & supporting communities

• Hannah Reynolds (Glasgow Disability Alliance) – support to get online

There will also be an opportunity to share your experiences and identify actions to take forward.

We use Zoom to host our sessions so you will in time receive emails with joining details. We know that colleagues like to book places for each other, but please ensure that we have a unique email address for every attendee. Please contact Karen – CLD@gcvs.org.uk if you have any further queries.
