The Scottish Government’s Expert Working Group on Welfare is currently investigating the principles and policies that could form the pillars of a working age benefits system in an independent Scotland.  They have issued a  Call for Evidence as part of a wider programme of engagement over the coming months, which will build on the material already gathered in the first phase.

The Group is keen to engage fully with a range of parties interested in the future of the benefits system in Scotland and to encourage discussion events and forums. They recognise that organisations may wish to consult with their  networks/stakeholders/customers to inform their thinking on the issues and may help to support any consultation events or meetings.  Interested organisations should contact independence&welfare@scotland.gsi.gov.uk for further information.

Those who wish to respond to the call should complete the respondee information form.
