Fit for Work Service overview – helping staff return from sick leave (£55* per person)

Date: 16th November 2016 (morning)

Fit For Work Scotland is a free, Government-backed service to help your employees on sick leave to get back to work sooner, and provide advice on health at work. It is aimed at small to medium sized employers who may not have access to Occupational Health advisers.

Once someone has been off work sick for 4 weeks or more the chances of them returning start to quickly diminish. This new free service allows employers or GPs to refer the employee for an assessment with a professional clinician who will identify any barriers to return to work and aim to develop and agree a Return to Work plan.

Redundancies, Restructures and Changing Employment Contracts (£198* per person)

Date: 7th December 2016

Change has become a way of life for many organisations – whether it’s about taking on new contracts, responding to funding cuts, or simply trying to improve effectiveness.

But when those changes impact on employees’ jobs or terms and conditions it’s important to follow the right process. Getting it right can ensure an engaged and motivated workforce. Getting it wrong can bring the opposite, plus the possibility of expensive tribunal claims and damage to services and reputation.

This full day session is aimed at Managers, CEOs and Board members. It will look at the law and best practice in this area including

  • Understanding redundancy
  • Following fair procedures
  • Changing the contract of employment.
