On the 16th of June 2017, GCVS held ‘Scotland’s National Action Plan (NAP) on Business & Human Rights’, the only Third Sector Consultation on the NAP – facilitated by Carole Ewart, Public Policy and Human Rights Consultant and Diego Quiroz of the Scottish Human Rights Commission.
The session provided a briefing on what a National Action Plan for Business & Human Rights is, why it’s important to the Third Sector and the people we work with and how all of us can contribute to safe guarding and advancing human rights through the individual and collective decisions we make. We were also very pleased to have Cllr Susan Aiken, Leader of Glasgow City Council chairing the event and it was interesting to hear the thoughts, views and opinions of GCVS Members and the wider Third Sector during the session.
A report on the event itself has been put together and is intended for circulation to Scotland’s Third Sector who are invited to endorse the contents and comment directly to SHRC at email@example.com.
The full report was produced by GCVS, Voluntary Action Scotland and the Scottish Council on Deafness, with the assistance of Carole Ewart, a public policy and human
rights consultant – firstname.lastname@example.org. You can read the report here.
