The pressures that low income families face exacerbate over the school holidays. Come and hear solutions and ideas to overcoming these barriers from CPAG in Scotland, Children in Scotland and PEEK at the Everyone’s Children Project event on 28th March!
With the Spring (Easter) Holidays coming up, many children will be eagerly anticipating two weeks off school. For some children, school holidays are a time for activities, trips and fun memories with their friends and family.
Yet for many families on low incomes the school holidays are a struggle – with financial pressures due to the absence of free school meals, difficulties in finding and paying for appropriate childcare, and the stress of not being able to provide your children with the holiday experience that some of their peers get.
At our event on the 28th of March, John Dickie from CPAG in Scotland will discuss these issues and recommendations that can be put into practice, as put forward in CPAG’s Cost of the School Holidays Project.
Delegates will also hear examples from PEEK Project and Children in Scotland, who have already set up schemes to tackle these issues – including a parent and child summer scheme based in Dalmarnock Primary School.
This session is a must for any organisation working with children and families. Book a place through our Eventbrite page!
