The ongoing COVID19 situation with different and increased demands on organisations, along with the need to plan longer term means that organisations are facing challenges as never before. Some organisations will need to review their position and make changes. Board members play a key role in voluntary sector organisations and groups. Sometimes they need a little support with planning and crisis management.
GCVS is working with partners to provide bespoke support to organisations who may need to plan for a number of reasons such as planning for a change of circumstance or improving sustainability.
A surgery appointment with our experts can point you in the right direction. For this we offer one to one 45 minute bookable appointments via telephone or Zoom. These planning appointments are only relevant for senior managers or board members.

Are you concerned your organisation is insolvent or not viable?
When organisations suspect that they may be in a crisis or difficult situation, it is important that the board addresses the situation and acts quickly. However difficult it might be, it is essential that if you suspect the organisation may be insolvent, you must not continue operations.
GCVS is here to help as much as we can and would suggest the following immediate actions: The board should assess the position of the organisation. We have a GCVS Assessment and Next Steps template which can help. Additionally the board should consider any potential HR implications, eg payments for any potential notice periods and redundancies. If you have an HR advisor, contact them to discuss any necessary actions. GCVS can provide an HR surgery appointment with our HR Service Manager if required.
