Equalities within GCVS

Equalities is one of GCVS's core organisational values. All staff are kept up to date with and developed according to the latest equalities guidelines.

GCVS runs an internal Equalities Working Group that meets monthly to monitor, review and comment on equality issues within GCVS: training, policies, provision of services etc. The group meets with external organisations in order to encourage links between GCVS and equalities organisations in the city, learn from groups that have expertise in specific areas, and consider joint working.

Equalities Advice and Support

Employment: information on issues relating to equal opportunities in recruiting and employing staff;

Training: opportunities for further development in areas such as Deaf Awareness Training, Women Into Management Training;

Capacity Building: support which allows groups that have an equality agenda to grow and to have strong, independent voices. This support is offered through the work of our Capacity Building Officer supported by the Equalities Team.

Policy: GCVS policy team keeps a close eye on consultations which concern equalities. To keep up to date with our equalities policy work, log on to Speak Out!
