Programme for Government 2015/16
The Scottish Government has published its Programme for Government 2015/16. The document sets out the legislation for the coming year, as well as summarising the Scottish Government’s key achievements and main goals for the future – both legislative and non-legislative.
The following legislation will be taken forward in 2015/16:
- Abusive Behaviour and Sexual Harm Bill
- Bankruptcy Consolidation Bill
- Budget Bill
- Burial and Cremation Bill
- Lobbying Bill
- Private Tenancies Bill
- Scottish Elections (dates) Bill
- Scottish Fiscal Commission Bill
The Programme includes a draft National Improvement Framework for Scottish Education, which controversially, considers plans to introduce national literacy and numeracy tests at key stages. It is aligned with the Scottish Government’s Economic Strategy which makes competitiveness and inequality the two pillars under which the framework is designed.
