The Scottish Government have published a discussion paper on Early Learning & Childcare. They are seeking to establish a programme of pilots/trials to test how best to deliver Early Learning and Childcare to meet the needs of all children and parents.

The third sector plays a very important part in delivering services and activities for children and families through breakfast clubs, after school care, clubs and sports activities, parent and toddler groups, summer play schemes, family centres and more.

GCVS will be responding to the consultation, on behalf of its members and we’d like you to help. You can do this by sending us your thoughts on how the voluntary sector can deliver Early Learning and Childcare (and the barriers and challenges) and/or responding to the Scottish Government consultation.  Please contact suzie.scott@gcvs.org.uk

The paper is out for views until 18 March 2016. It is available electronically on the Scottish Government’s website at https://consult.scotland.gov.uk/
