A Call for Evidence into the assessment process for Personal Independence Payments, which replace DLA for new claimants and which existing claimants will be transferred onto and assessed for in future, has been issued.   The call for Evidence will inform any recommendations that the reviewer, Paul Grey, will make to the Secretary of State on how improvements could be made.

Given years of controversy over Work Capability Assessments and their impact on people with serious physical and mental health problems, it is important that the assessments for PIP eligibility are fair and take into account the full range of difficulties with everyday living faced by those with disabilities and those suffering from ill health.

If you, or your organisation, have any views to share with the reviewer, you can respond here

The 5th review of the Work Capability Assessment is also underway and can be responded to here
