Finance and Office Administrator
We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated administrator, with sound experience of financial management in the third sector, to join our small friendly team and keep us all in order.
The Finance and Office Administrator is a key member of our small team, who manages our day to day administration with a particular focus on finance. As the first point of contact, warmth, enthusiasm and confidence are essential. You must have excellent book keeping skills, including Sage 50 Accounts. We have a range of revenue streams including grants, trusts and earned income, so ideally you will have experience in this environment and of working with restricted and unrestricted funds. IT skills would be advantageous as would an understanding of using social media and other communication methods. As you’d expect we need you to be interested in processes and systems, and supporting the rest of the team. To find out further details follow the link below.
Marketing and communications intern
The Village Storytelling Centre has an excellent paid 11 week opportunity for the right graduate to join our team to help us review and update our hardcopy and digital marketing.
Using funding from the Santander Social Enterprise Development fund, we are looking for an enthusiastic, self-starter to work with us for 11 weeks as a paid intern. The successful individual will have a good degree in marketing or related area with a significant component of digital marketing. They will enjoy working as part of a small team and recognise the importance of successful marketing and communication in the charity sector. After the last major review of our communications and marketing in 2010, they now need updated to ensure that they reflect the breadth of what the Village does with clarity, particularly in terms of services that we provide. We are moving towards a model of a greater proportion of self-generated income, which is critical to our long term sustainability, and our materials need to be adapted to reflect this. We also need to review our mailing list and newsletter to make this more up-to-date, easy for us to produce and distribute and plan to start using Mailchimp, to strengthen our social media presence and to redesign our website. The Village Storytelling Centre is looking for a Treasurer with sound financial expertise to help develop and govern our work, along with other individuals with an interest in contributing to our continuing success.
We are moving towards financial sustainability through social enterprise activity and are exploring many other exciting new development opportunities. We seek someone with financial expertise who can make a key contribution as Treasurer to our voluntary Board of Directors. The successful candidate will support the financial governance of The Village and will require a thorough knowledge of financial controls, budgeting and the presentation and understanding of management accounts. A working knowledge of Sage Accounting packages and previous board experience would be desirable. For further information follow the link below
