We are looking to recruit a voluntary Treasurer and Chair position to join the Board of Bridges Out of Poverty, a new charity helping people in Glasgow move out of poverty and lead change in their communities. We deliver training to organisations that interact with individuals in poverty to help them understand the definition and impact of poverty, and we also deliver our Getting Ahead program to individuals in poverty, facilitating their understanding of the resources needed to transition out of poverty.
Our Mission is:
To transform Greater Glasgow and Clyde into a sustainable community in which individuals move from generational poverty to self-reliance and resilience, enhancing the quality of life for everyone and creating a model for other communities, using Bridges Out of Poverty as a framework.
– Building the resources of people in poverty for a better life
– Developing human and social capital
– Addressing poverty traps
– Addressing structural inequality.
