The Big Society

Launched mid-July 2010, 'The Big Society' is a programme from the new coalition government aimed at providing communities with a more active and enpowered role in local issues, shifting power and decision-making away from centralised government.

The New Economics Foundation have published an interesting discussion paper around co-production and its possible uses in the delivery of the 'Big Society' agenda. The paper looks at how statutory providers and citizens and service users can work together to deliver better, more efficient services. This can be viewed here.
