David Mundell, Under Secretary of State for Scotland, visited Glasgow yesterday and claimed the city is no longer "openly hostile" to the Tories. His visit included a tour of the east end, a visit to the Clyde Gateway regeneration area, the Kibble education centre in Paisley and a Jobcentre Plus in Clydebank. He then met with council leader Gordon Matheson to discuss topics including high-speed rail links to Scotland, devolution of some benefits legislation and MoD shipbuilding contracts on the Clyde.
