Glasgow City Council issues spending cuts warning

Glasgow City Council has announced that it has to find an additional £40m in savings on top of those already planned for next year. The authority now expectes that between 2011 and 2013, a total of £115m of savings will have to be made.

The council is now considering how to make the required savings while protecting priority areas of education and early years, jobs and the economy and targeted support for the most vulnerable.
