Council Consults on Adult Services Plan

Glasgow City Council is consulting on the Glasgow City Joint Adult Services Plan for 2012/13.  The Plan sets out the joint vision, objectives and priorities for change in the delivery of care and support services, in order to address the needs and aspirations of vulnerable adults and older people in the City and sets out the council’s  commitment to work in partnership with NHS Great Glasgow & Clyde.

Care Group Priorities and Activities:

  • Older People
  • Adults with Disabilities
  • Mental Health
  • Alcohol and Drugs
  • Homelessness

Key objectives include:

  • Early prevention and harm reduction
  • Providing greater self-determination and choice
  • Shifting the balance of care
  • Enabling independent living for longer
  • Quality Care Management

The plan expresses a need to work with the Third Sector in the city to support carers, build community capacity and to continue working together in fields such as homelessness, drugs and alcohol addiction, physical disability and mental health. 

Consultation start date 26 June 2012

Consultation end date 28 July 2012

Feedback date Due 28 September 2012
