Does your organisation have experience of the benefits and challenges of mainstreaming equality and human rights? GCVS and CRER are currently developing an Equality and Human Rights Framework for the Third Sector on behalf of a consortium of organisations including the Equality and Diversity Forum, Shelter, Age UK, Macmillan Cancer, Campaign for National Parks and Action for Children, funded by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
We’re seeking expertise from Voluntary Organisations across Britain to make sure this competency based, outcome focussed performance measurement Framework meets the needs of Britain’s diverse Third Sector.
Performance Frameworks:
We are undertaking a review of existing Performance Frameworks that have a relevance to equality and/or human rights, and/or the voluntary sector.
If you have examples of frameworks that you think we should take into consideration – whether as examples of good practice, or as examples of where things don’t work, or simply to make sure our review is as comprehensive as possible - please email us at equalities@gcvs.org.uk .
We are looking at Frameworks developed by and for organisations large and small, across the diversity of voluntary and community organisations in the UK as well as from statutory and governmental organisations.
The final review of existing Frameworks will be made available to you when completed.
Please send us your suggestions by 20th January 2012
Focus Groups:
We will be holding Focus Groups in Cardiff, London, Edinburgh and Glasgow in January and February.
The events in Cardiff, London and Edinburgh are aimed at organisations who already have experience in mainstreaming equality and human rights, and who wish to feed in to the development of an Equality and Human Rights Performance Framework.
The focus groups in Glasgow will look at how the Framework can best meet the needs of small, medium and large organisations. Organisations attending these events don’t need to have significant experience of mainstreaming equality and human rights, just an opinion on what the benefits and challenges might be for their organisation.
If you would be interested to attend please email us at equalities@gcvs.org.uk
