From LTCAS
"The Boards of Long Term Conditions Alliance Scotland and Voluntary Health Scotland have agreed to enter into a programme of work - Facing the Future - to merge the organisations.
This reflects the direction of travel for health and social care policy and services in Scotland, including within government.
The merged organisation will continue to ensure the voices of people living with long term conditions remain central to the developing broader agenda set out by the Christie Commission.
The merged organisation – a broader, third sector alliance, covering health and social care and related issues – will be in a strong position to work with government, to inform, to engage, to persuade, to innovate and to build a stronger voice for the third sector and those they represent, ensuring people are at the heart of policy and services.
The LTCAS Board with LTCAS staff will be working with VHS to develop an involvement and communication strategy so that all our member organisations and our other stakeholders will be fully involved in and informed about this programme of work."
