Integrated Grant Fund 2012/13 - Update

A report to be submitted to the Executive Committee at Glasgow City Council on Thursday 8th December outlines the Integrated Grant Fund recommendations for 2012/13.  Grants will be allocated to support Glasgow City Council’s budget priorities and the priorities of Glasgow Community Planning Partnership.

Grants are now aligned with refreshed programmes, split into the following categories:

  • Local CPP programmes
  • Support Programmes (e.g. Community Engagement and Third Sector
  • Support)
  • Citywide Thematic Programmes

In a bid to protect funding at the local level, the report recommends that Local Community Planning Partnership funding for next year remains at 2011/12 levels following significant reductions to last year’s funding.

The report reiterates the recommendation to protect funding for the Craft Apprenticeships, Community Policing and Glasgow Regeneration Agency programmes.

Funding for the following projects is recommended to remain at 2011/12 levels:

  • Local Community Planning Partnership Boards (£9.4m)
  • Area Committee Grants (£1.46m)
  • Glasgow’s Regeneration Agency (£7.6m)
  • Craft Apprenticeships (£1.455m)
  • Community Policing (£3.2m)

Included in the report are recommendations for the different programmes included in the Integrated Grants Fund, which face a 3.5% overall reduction in 2012/13.  Given the protected areas, this will entail an average of 7.8% across each programme, but the most significant reduction is to community engagement funding which will see a reduction of over 17% if the proposals are approved.

Local board recommedations are available on the GCPP website.
