Letter sent by Alastair M Brown, Environmental Health & Trading Standards Manager, Glasgow City Council
As you may be aware, the City Council is reducing the number of office buildings that our staff utilises and we are now seeking to re-distribute some of the resultant furniture.
The type of items include:- desks, chairs, tables, cupboards, filing cabinets, drawers and coat stands. There are a variety of colours, shapes and sizes and multiples of each item.
The list above is not exhaustive and there will be other miscellaneous items. Our store currently houses over 1,000 items and each has been assessed as in good condition and suitable for re-use.
You, or representatives of your Organisation, have previously expressed an interest in items that we hold or have been identified as an Organisation that may be interested. We are, therefore, wishing to invite you to an Open Day at our furniture store. This will take place on Wednesday 07 December 2011 between the hours of 9.00 am and 4.00 pm.
The store is located at:
City Building Store
Queenslie Industrial Estate
39 Blairtummock Road
Glasgow
G33 4ND
At the Open Day you will be able to view furniture and select what you require. You should bring transport for uplift on the day. In some cases, arrangements can be made for uplift at a future date. Alternatively, delivery can be arranged but a charge would be made for this. No charge is being made for items. If you intend to take more that 12 items, you should notify us in advance. During busy periods you may have to wait for access. No appointment is, however, necessary.
On the day, please bring with you evidence for identification of your Organisation. You will also be asked to read and sign a disclaimer before you are able to take any items. You may find it useful to bring materials for marking or booking items you wish held for you.
I trust that this is of assistance and look forward to seeing you on the day.
Regards.
