Dear Colleague,

Third Sector Forum Launch (9th December 2011)

I am writing to invite you to the official launch of Glasgow’s Third Sector Forum which will take place on Friday 9th December from 2pm to 3.30pm in the Renfield Centre, 260 Bath Street, Glasgow G2 4JP.

The Third Sector plays a vital part in the life of Scotland’s largest city, contributing substantially to its economy, providing vital services to many of the city’s most vulnerable citizens and developing innovative approaches to the problems facing us all at this time.

The Third Sector Forum brings together voluntary organisations, social enterprises and volunteering organisations from across Glasgow.  Alongside the Third Sector Interface, it has been developed to ensure that the Third Sector contributes to shaping Glasgow for the better.  Over the coming years we are committed to:

  • ensuring the best possible futures for Glasgow’s poorest people and places;

  • raising the profile and increasing the quality of work within the Third Sector ; and,

  • developing new and innovative partnerships for the benefit of Glasgow.

At the launch, we will be joined by Councillor Sadie Docherty, the newly appointed Chair of Glasgow's Community Planning Partnership (CPP), along with a number of other senior public sector partners involved in the CPP.  The launch will also give the Third Sector Forum the opportunity to share some of the work already being undertaken by third sector organisations across the city and to share our developing plans for the future.  We very much very hope that you will be able to join us on this occasion.  Refreshments will be provided.

Please note that numbers for this event are limited and we would be grateful if you could complete the registration form at by 5pm on Wednesday 23 November.  If you have any problems completing the form, or would perhaps prefer a hard-copy version, please contact Tom Warrington, the Third Sector Forum’s Membership & Communications Officer by emailing tom.warrington@gcvs.org.uk.

Yours sincerely

Martin Johnstone
Chair, Third Sector Forum Executive Committee
