To: All organisations receiving grant funding from Glasgow City Council’s Integrated Grants Fund in 2011/2012
This email provides an update on the timetable and process of assessing Glasgow City Council Integrated Grant Fund (IGF) programmes for funding in 2012/13.
2012/13 Funding Levels
The Council’s Executive Committee recently agreed to reduce its original 2012/13 savings target of £2.7m to £1.4m. As part of this decision the Council has identified strategic commitments within the overall IGF where existing funding levels will be maintained in 2012/13. These include:

The 2012/13 Assessment Process
All Integrated Grants Fund programmes have been combined into new, refreshed grants programmes. Each of these programmes has been assessed for Strategic Fit with Council Budget and Community Planning Partnership priorities, as below:
Council Budget priorities
Training and Skills for Employment
Education and Early Years
Targeted Support for the Vulnerable
Community Planning Partnership Priorities
Youth Employability
Early Intervention (including early years)
Those projects which receive their grant from the Arts and Culture Programme will be assessed against the 2014 Commonwealth Games Legacy Themes.
Discussions have taken place with Strategic Leads for each of the new programmes on the objectives, targets and outcomes for these programmes. You will have been notified by the Council’s Grants Team of which funding programme your project is included and of the Strategic Lead for that programme.
Assessments will be done, as in previous years, in conjunction with Strategic Leads and on the basis of fit with funding priorities, current monitoring information and overall impact.
Strategic Leads will be asked to provide a portfolio of recommendations in line with budget allocations for each relevant programme. These will then be brought forward for consideration by the Council’s Executive Committee and Community Planning Partnership where appropriate.
As in previous years, funding recommendations are subject to organisations submitting a satisfactory Funding Proposal Form, covering financial and performance monitoring requirements for 2012/2013.
Timescales for funding decisions
It is anticipated that the 2012/2013 funding recommendations will be considered by the Council’s Executive Committee and, where applicable, by the Glasgow Community Planning Partnership Strategic Board in time to allow award packages to be issued before the end of December 2011.
We will issue a further information update on the assessment process in November. In the meantime, if you have any questions relating to your project please contact the Council’s Grants Team on 0141 287 0060.
