Oxfam is engaged in a Scotland wide project to find out what people think is necessary to live well in their communities. They are using a variety of methods of collecting these views, on line survey, small meetings, street stalls and larger meetings in major population centres.
The object is to produce a Humankind Index which they intend to use to influence policy makers. The intention is that the Index will more accurately reflect the views and priorities of people and their communities. For more information about this project visit Oxfam's Website.
As part of this consultation process Oxfam are holding a community meeting in Glasgow on Saturday 21st May in the Renfield Centre, 260 Bath Street, Glasgow, G2 4JP. They are particularly keen to hear the views of people who might otherwise be difficult to reach. The community meeting will last approx 2 hours and start at 2p.m - travel expenses, crèche facilities and a lunch will be provided for those who take part. There is also a £15 voucher for each participant to thank them for giving up their time.
