Latest News: Glasgow's New Community Health Partnership Structures
Following the break-up of Glasgow Community Health and Care Partnerships (CHCPs) in 2010, Glasgow City Community Health Partnership was formed. Formerly, there were five local CHCPs in Glasgow. The reformed Community Health Partnerships now operate on a 3 area model. The new structures and governance arrangements are outlined below.
- The South Sector covers the area previously managed by South East and South West CHCPs and has a total population of 219,000.
- The area covered by North CHCP has been divided and added to the previous East and West CHCP areas in order to create the new North East and North West Sectors. These have populations of 178,000 and 187,000, respectively.
- CHCPs will continue to work in partnership through Joint Planning Structures.
- The CHP will continue to actively participate in the revised Community Planning Partnership arrangements and to work on areas of mutual concern.
- Each of the new Sectors will have a Sector Management Team to provide local leadership and be responsible for service delivery and coordination.
- Other sector level governance arrangements include Primary Care Development and Clinical Governance Groups and Public Partnership Forums (PPFs).
- Executive leadership for the CHP is provided by the CHP Corporate Management Team: the CHP Director, the three Sector Directors, the CHP Clinical Director, and the CHP Heads of Finance, Health Improvement, Human Resources and Organisational development. There are also a number of CHP wide scrutiny groups which include the Clinical Governance Committee, the Staff Partnership Forum, and the Performance Scrutiny Group.
- The performance of the CHP will be overseen by the CHP Committee, a formal sub-committee of the NHS Board, responsible for the CHPs Development Plan, as well as for setting and monitoring budgets, and managing performance against defined local and national outcomes and targets.
