Scottish Youth Parliament Elections

Young people across Scotland are being asked by the Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) to stand up for what they believe in and make a difference in their communities by standing as a candidate in the March 2011 Youth Parliament elections.

The national organisation which provides young people aged 14-25 a platform to represent young people across Scotland and an opportunity to influence politicians and formal decision makers are looking for its next group of youth activists.

Anyone aged 14-25 will have the opportunity to either stand as a candidate in the elections, or vote in the upcoming elections this March. For the first time the SYP will be bringing together all elections across Scotland into one nationwide process, from 14th - 25th March 2011, with the nomination system launched in having been launched on 8th December 2010.

Interested young people are being asked to go to www.syp.org.uk/elections to sign up to stand as a candidate in the elections and to access election materials. The nominations process will close in January 2011.
