SVQ Assessment Centre

Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) are work-based qualifications which assess the skills and knowledge people have and need to perform their job effectively. SVQ's can be accessed by everyone in the workplace.

  • There are no minimum entry or age limits
  • Candidates' needs are addressed individually
  • Workshops are provided for induction and support
  • Candidates are supported by their assessor through their VQ
  • Learning Assistant provides remote access and shorter completion timeframes.

SVQs can benefit your organisation by:

  • Raising the skills of your workforce to National Occupational Standards.

GCVS is approved to offer SVQs in:

  • Advice and Guidance (Level 2)

    This course provides a qualification for front-line support workers, career advisers, personal advisers and recruitment advisers.

  • Advice and Guidance (Level 3)

    This course provides a qualification for front-line support workers, career advisers, personal advisers and recruitment advisers.

  • Advice and Guidance (Level 4)

    This course provides a qualification for front-line support workers, career advisers, personal advisers and recruitment advisers.

  • Assessor and Verifier Awards

    The Assessor and Verifier Awards are nationally recognised and widely used competence-based qualifications.

  • Business Administration (Level 2)

    Administration SVQs are based on standards developed by the Council for Administration. This Award is aimed at office juniors and receptionists.

  • Business Administration (Level 3)

    The Business Administration SVQs are aimed at candidates working in an office. Admin Level 3 is aimed at secretaries, administration assistants, administrators, admin co-ordinators and PAs.

  • Health and Social Care (Level 2)

    This SVQ is aimed at support assisstants & care workers with no management responsibilities.

  • Health and Social Care (Level 3)

    This SVQ is aimed at senior or key support & careworkers who may have staff responsibilites and are also involved in care planning and reviews.

  • Health and Social Care (Level 4)

    This SVQ is aimed at Senior Managers. Deputies and Managers who have line management responsibilites within their organisation.
