Adult Literacy and Numeracy
Low literacy and numeracy levels impact on every aspect of an individuals’ life - personal, family, work & community – and are associated with lack of qualifications, poor labour market experience and prospects, poorer health behaviour, and lower social and political participation.
The GCVS Adult Literacy and Numeracy (ALN) team provides support services to a range of organisations delivering high quality services to adults, young people and families across Glasgow, helping to build their reading, writing and number skills and to live full and active lives.
Our services include:
- practitioner and organisational learning and development sessions focussing on ALN specific and wider skills
- providing opportunities for ALN practitioners to share skills and build capacity
- access to learning resources,
- seminars and events showcasing effective and innovative practice.
