Aim:
This course will explore the techniques used to assess and improve the use of time in the workplace.  It will enable an appreciation of the importance of time management for individuals and teams.

Target Group:
This course is suitable for anyone wishing to improve their time management skills.

Objectives:
On successful completion of the course, you should be able to:

  • identify your own time and workload problems
  • explain the consequences on others of your various difficulties
  • identify strategies to improve your time management
  • draw up an action plan to improve one aspect of how you work

The course will cover:

  • Time pressures and their sources
  • Ownership of time-based problems
  • The importance of good communication as a time management tool
  • Time wasters
  • Analysing the consequences and causes of problems using a web chart technique
  • Strategies for improving your use of time
  • Action planning to improve your use of time

This course is participant centred and interactive and is designed to provide a setting in which workplace issues are approached in the context of the subject under discussion.  Practical outcomes in the form of action planning for implementation in the workplace are combined with focused discussion of theoretical perspectives in a positive learning environment.
