people learningGCVS works within the third sector to support the continuing development of a culture in which learning is available and accessible to all individuals throughout their lives. We provide support and a range of services to organisations working in community learning and development (CLD) in Glasgow.

In line with national community learning and development strategic guidance we seek to empower people, individually and collectively, to make positive changes in their lives and in their communities through learning.  Whether you are working with young people, with adults, or are supporting capacity building in your locality, we can help you to ensure that people and communities have the opportunity to reach their full potential through lifelong learning.

GCVS staff contribute to a number of partnerships that move the CLD agenda forward, within Glasgow and nationally, specifically:

CLD Standards Council The body responsible for the registration of CLD practitioners, the approval of training courses, and the continuing professional development of the sector workforce.
Glasgow’s Learning Partnership The strategic body responsible for co-ordinating learning within the city including adult literacy and numeracy (ALN), English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and digital learning.
