Delivered by a cultural Deaf BSL teacher, this unit aims to equip learners with some useful BSL skills so that they can communicate with other BSL users. A variety of learning methods are involved, including conversations, role-plays, tutorials and DVD work to help with learners' understanding of BSL (sign reception), and ability to use BSL (sign production). At the end of the course, learners will have the opportunity to undertake assessment of their skills and receive a certificate.
Unit 1 includes the assessment fee, Introduction to BSL Learners' Guide Curriculum Book, Unit 4 BSL Awareness and BSL Association Membership Newsletter.
