GCVS conducts research into issues that affect the voluntary sector in Glasgow, providing regular updates to our members in a variety of ways. Our monthly newsletter is a valuable resource that informs our subscribers of the most important developments in policy, funding, voluntary sector news and a host of other issues.
In 2009 we asked out members to complete two complete two recession surveys. The surveys asked members about the issues affecting their organisations and and their service users as a result of the financial crisis and ensuing recession. We have made this information available to local and national policy makers, ensuring the voice of Glasgow’s Third Sector is communicated to those operating at the national level.
We respond to consultations and calls for written evidence from the Scottish Parliament. We also collate research produced by other national organisations, such as the Scottish Poverty Information Unit.
We also gather data about the sector through Infobase and Engage.
With information on 1,600 organisations with paid and non-paid staff, it offers valuable data on the scale and scope of the sector.
Once you've registered with Infobase, details about your group will be easily accessible to anyone who needs your services or wants to get involved. It will also make it easier for other groups to find you – ideal for networking and for devising more joined-up ways of working.
Our research team can also provide statistical analysis and reports on a wide range of voluntary sector issues.
Powered by Infobase, Engage gives key information about the size, scope and range of activity delivered by community and voluntary organisations in Glasgow. It provides users with an interface through which they can generate Excel reports for a wide range of purposes, including:
