GCVS Recession Survey
In March 2009 we surveyed our members to ascertain the severity of the economic downturn and its effect on Glasgow's voluntary organisations and community groups. This information provided us with a baseline analysis of the situation and we produced a report at that time.
In November 2009 we asked our members to take part in an updated survey so that we could continue to track the effects of the recession and inform the content of discussion with local policy-makers, funders and Scottish Government officials. The survey was in the form of a questionnaire, providing multiple choice questions as well as giving respondents an opportunity to comment on their current situation and to provide us with key messages that they would like us to take to local and national decision makers.

Glasgow has a volunteering strategy which has been adopted by the Glasgow Community Planning Partnership.
The Strategic Framework aims to enhance the positive contribution of volunteering within the city by assisting volunteer involving organisations, and other stakeholders that support volunteering, to adopt an effective, efficient and consistent approach across the city. The framework will enable the voluntary, public and private sectors to unite as partners to promote and develop volunteering in Glasgow. It aims to enhance the quality of the experience for existing volunteers, to ensure volunteering is accessible to all, and to encourage new people to participate and share in the benefits of volunteering.
Glasgow Social Economy Partnership (GSEP)
