Equalities Within GCVS

Equalities

Equalities is one of GCVS's core organisational values. All staff are kept informed about developments to the latest equalities guidelines.

GCVS runs an internal Equalities Working Group that meets monthly to monitor, review and comment on equality issues within GCVS. The group meets with external organisations in order to encourage links between GCVS and equalities organisations in the city, learn from groups that have expertise in specific areas, and consider joint working.

Equality Networks Forum

Our Communications and Resource Worker at GCVS provides information and advice to equality organisations and groups through the Glasgow Equality Forum (formerly know as the Equality Networks Forum (ENF))

The Networks represented in the GEF are: Glasgow Black and Ethnic Minority Voluntary Sector Network; Glasgow Women's Voluntary Sector Network; Glasgow Disability Alliance and the West of Scotland LGBT Forum. The ENF also includes representatives from Glasgow City Council.

For more information about these networks and the work of the ENF please visit the ENF website or the ENF Blog.

You can contact any Network representative via the ENF website.

Equalities News

We publish a range of equalities publications on behalf of the ENF including three weekly e-newsletters (Equality Updates , Jobs Extra and Funding Extra ) These free publications will keep you up-to-date on a wide range of equalities news and events. You can also subscribe online at www.enf.org.uk to any or all of the publications.

As well as access to the newsletters and the magazine, the ENF Blog lists other news items, links to equalities training organisations, an online Equalities Events Diary, and our ENF YouTube site (lots of awareness raising and campaigning videos - to use in your organisations, to send to friends, to use in training).
