Are you well-informed about the issues facing the voluntary sector?

GCVS' Policy Team ensures that the views of Glasgow's voluntary sector are heard in policy development processes at both local and national levels.

We provide information on policy change through our publication Interchange and through summary versions of policy documents. Regular consultation and briefing meetings give members the opportunity to input to emerging policy issues. GCVS represents the sector on several city-wide partnerships and participates in a range of policy-making forums.

To facilitate voluntary sector representation and involvement, GCVS listens to the changing needs and aspirations of the sector and gathers intelligence from a wide range of voluntary sector sources.

GCVS reflects the diversity of views on relevant policy priorities such as:

  • Community Planning
  • Equalities
  • Community health planning
  • Community learning and development
  • Wider access /GHA
  • Development of the social economy
  • Welfare reform / worklessness and addictions
