People Make Glasgow initiative

Glasgow City Council is issuing an open call out to people, communities, voluntary organisations, and others to help renew the City after COVID, and take part in delivering local projects, venues and services which they love and benefit from, in their neighbourhoods and communities.

People Make Glasgow Communities has been launched, offering people the chance to play a greater role in delivering and managing local services, buildings and facilities.  This new call to action will use the ‘People Make Glasgow’ brand to encourage people and groups to express an interest in making local services and resources more accessible and relevant to local communities.

Ian Bruce, Chief Executive of GCVS has commented :

“This is an innovative and exciting initiative, with Glasgow City Council leading the way for Scotland in empowering communities to play a greater role in the venues and services that matter to them. Our members – community groups, voluntary organisations and social enterprises – now have a real opportunity to step up and demonstrate the change that is possible.”
