This week is Living Wage week and GCVS is celebrating being a Living Wage employer! By joining the scheme we have pledged to ensure all employees and contractors are paid the living wage, which has been set at £7.85. It compares to the national minimum wage rate of £6.50 an hour.

The rate is based on JRF’s Minimum Income Standard research, which considers what income is needed to provide an adequate standard of living. The Living Wage is paid voluntarily, with organisations accredited by the Living Wage Foundation.

We join over 1000 accredited employers across the UK, of which 59 are in Scotland.  Other TSIs who also are accredited living wage employers are: CVS Inverclyde, CVS Falkirk, Voluntary Action Angus and West Dunbartonshire CVS.
