The Our World Reimagined (OWR) series was planned and delivered by GCVS with a series of 10, hour long sessions running from September to December 2020. The series was developed to respond and contribute to national and local COVID recovery work.
Hosted by respected journalist Pennie Taylor, each session heard from a key thinker, academic or public servant, with each talking about a big idea, an important debate or research which had resonance and relevance as we seek to “build forward better” in the context of COVID-19.
Each session also included a question and answer section, and ended with a ‘response’ to the big idea from an individual working in the third sector. Over 800 people registered to attend, with participants coming from Glasgow and beyond including England, Wales, Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland and Australia.
You can watch the whole series via this playlist.
A number of themes and lessons emerged consistently and we have pulled these together in this report:
We also have a shorter, summary version:
We want to say a massive thank you to all of our speakers and third sector respondents, to the participants who took the time to listen and contribute, and to journalist Pennie Taylor for so ably hosting the series.
