Glasgow City Council Land and Environmental Services (LES) has proposed that projects can apply for a free Road Closure application on one of the days during the weekend of 19/20 and 21st June. LES will pay for the road closure notification/advert and for their staff to put up the barriers on the day. The Big Lunch Project are also encouraging community groups to apply for road closure during the same weekend.
Glasgow Life have been asked by LES to find out how many projects would be interested in applying for road closure on either Friday 19th, Saturday 20th or Sunday 21st June and are asking for initial expressions of interest.

If there is enough interest and the proposal is accepted LES will distribute a specific road closure application form for the above dates.
You will need : a named contact person, stewards on the day to redirect traffic, The support of local residents, Public Liability Insurance for a minimum of 5 million pounds. Check with your insurance company or for a quote for a “one off “ policy for the day, about £70, the Big Lunch Project has insurance information on their website.
