Invitation to nominate

Volunteer Glasgow are hosting the inaugural ‘Alistair Malloy Inspire Awards’ on 8th June at Glasgow City Chambers.

The awards have been created to remember the inspiring contribution, passions and interests of our friend and colleague Alistair Malloy who passed away in March 2014. We are committed to ensuring his memory continues to inspire people across the city.

We invite you to nominate organisations or projects displaying excellent volunteering practice in Glasgow.

WHEN TO NOMINATE

Nominations will open on April 22nd and will close on May 15th. An awards panel will select the nominated organisations and notify the nominators in May, inviting nominators and winners to an awards ceremony on the 8th of June

The Categories

There are three award categories for which organisations can nominate themselves or others. Award winners will be selected by a panel and will be shortlisted against the criteria for that award.

  • The Inspire award for Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

The Inspire award for commitment to diversity and inclusion celebrates a volunteer-involving organisation that has excelled in its approach to inclusion and diversity. This award is for an organisation that has made a conscious effort to attract and retain volunteers from diverse backgrounds. The organisation will have an inclusive, welcoming volunteering programme and evidence of a diverse volunteer base.

  • The Inspire award for Innovation

The Inspire award for Innovation celebrates a volunteer-involving organisation that has demonstrated innovation in its approach to volunteer engagement. This award is for an organisation that has taken a creative approach to volunteer engagement and will be recognised as a driver of best practice in the city.

  • The Inspire award for Best Newcomer

The Inspire award for Best Newcomer celebrates an organisation that has, in the last two years, launched a successful volunteering programme. The award will go to an organisation that has committed resources to establishing a robust, good practice volunteering programme. This award allows us to celebrate new organisations or projects of existing organisations as well as existing organisations that are new to volunteering.
